Sauce & Butter, a restaurant in Rome, has as main feature to make you feel at home, not coincidentally the interior of the restaurant is styled "English country", typical of English houses to cozy warm. The space is divided into two rooms, one in which there is a wider screen for matches or during events and photos to project a smaller room, reserved for those who do not like the confusion and want to dine in privacy. Large windows with heavy curtains of green and white stripes, white-painted wooden tables (Art Nouveau), walls covered in patterned paper "Old style" paintings that are cakes, muffins and delicacies of the grandmother. During the summer, then, the restaurant has a large outdoor area that overlooks a quiet and picturesque street. Do not be fooled by appearances though, because the menu is typically Italian, traditional flavor to delight your tastebuds with specialties of the house.
The great strength of the restaurant & Butter Sauce is the formula of fixed-price menu, but with choice of dishes from the à la carte menu: no surprises in the price, but the wide choice of dishes!
The menu is divided into seafood and meat for food lovers of the light, we propose the "salad menu" especially suitable for lunch: make your own salad with all the ingredients you want!
From Tuesday to Friday lunch is served with two captive menu: the first drop (8.00 €) sets out an appetizer with toasted bread, a first or main course, dessert and water, the second menu (6.00 €) is composed of a first or a second course or a salad with choice ingredients and water.
For dinner the atmosphere heats up, the candles and background music accompanying the guests during the evening.
The fish menu is composed of 6 € 21.00 seafood appetizers including shrimp cocktail, bruschetta with baby octopus, fried cod fillet, a first among those offered daily as radish rice and salmon and a dessert of the house ... you can not miss the opportunity to eat the cannoli cream of coconut, nuts and hot chocolate flambé!
In the menu of meat 17.00 find a starter of bruschetta mixture, a first choice, including the delicious and rare Pappardelle with wild boar (always present in the menu) and a second including roast suckling pig, beef skewers with green pepper and lamb, not missing a sweet course among those offered by the house.
We were amazed by the quality and quantity of courses, especially those in the menu of fish, combined with cunning and prepared with imagination!
